CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The “Saturday in the Park” festival scheduled for Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Water’s Edge has been canceled due to the high possibility of inclement weather.

The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department and Bay Jammin’ Series, Inc. planned the event to kick-start Labor Day weekend; however, the ground at the festival site is saturated due to recent rains. Additionally, the National Weather Service predicts heavy rain for Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4.

Other events will remain on the schedule, weather permitting. The list below provides detailed information.

  • Canceled events:
    • “Saturday in the Park” by the water

  • Will take place, weather permitting:
    • Paddle for Parkinson’s, a timed kayak and stand-up paddleboard race, at the Corpus Christi Marina, 400A N. Shoreline Boulevard, at 9:00 a.m., will take place unless there is lightning
    • Corpus Christi Roadrunners Bill Dodge Memorial Run, 5K and 15K, at Cole Park, 2600 Ocean Drive, 7:30 a.m., will run unless lightning

Monday, September 5, 2022

  • Will take place, weather permitting:
    • Todd Hunter’s Safe Fun-Fit Labor Day 5k and 10k and other waterfront fitness programs at 7:30 a.m. will be held unless there is lightning

The rescheduling has not yet been determined; however, the City will provide more information as it becomes available.
