The Shelby County Public Library has a few upcoming events this month. Check out these storytelling hours, crafts, clubs and discussions at the Shelbyville and Morristown locations:

Euchre Club Callouts at the Morristown branch

Anyone looking for a place to learn or play Euchre is invited to attend a phone meeting for Euchre Club at 2 p.m. on January 8 at the Morristown branch.

Story time with Brandy

Join Brandy in the Shelbyville Library Annex (“Indiana Room”) for a story hour every Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m.

“There is plenty of space for the kids to move around and enjoy a story! According to the library website.

No reservations or library cards are required to attend any of the free story time programs. In-person storytelling hours can feature any or all of the following: stories, songs / music, puppets, finger games, nursery rhymes, activities, crafts / take-out, play time and lots of fun!

Adult Book Focus Group at Morristown Branch

The Morristown branch holds Book Discussions at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. On January 11, the group will discuss “The Year of Magical Thinking” by Joan Didion.

These chats are also available virtually via Zoom. The meeting ID is 874 4129 3948 and the password is Morr1stown.

Fireside chat with Ray Boomhower

The fireside chats in the Shelbyville Library’s Indiana Room (Annex) are back, according to the library’s website.

They will welcome author Ray E. Boomhower at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12 to the Genealogy and History Department of the Shelby County Public Library for a discussion on “Traces of Indiana and Indiana History. Midwest ”.

InstaPot Made Easy at the Morristown branch

Are you looking for a new way to save time while preparing a delicious meal?

Come explore InstaPot with guest speaker Diana Stone on Tuesday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Morristown branch of the library. This event is free and no reservations are necessary.

Edgar Allan Poe Celebration at Morristown Branch

The Morristown branch will host a birthday party for Edgar Allen Poe on January 19, where they will discuss his works and throw a party. It’s a free event.

Crafts and Cocoa for School Age Children: Snowflake Crafts

The Shelbyville site’s youth department will organize crafts and cocoa for school-aged children, where the children will make a snowflake.

Kids can stop by anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on January 20 to have fun with Snowflake Crafts. This event is free and no reservations are required.

Winter Wonderland Craft at the Morristown branch

The Morristown branch will be hosting a Winter Wonderland craft event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on January 25.

The staff will have several crafts available for children of all ages, according to the library’s website. Contact the library at 765-818-1718 or [email protected] with any questions.

Manufacturing: Project I AM

Each month the library will work on a specific Pinterest Craft.

Upcoming meetings will be at the Shelbyville Library on Thursday January 27 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Participants will participate in the “I Am” project, where they will paint and make collages.

It is $ 5 to attend and payable at the event. Questions can be directed to (317) 398-7121 ext. 239. RSVP is required.

Please note that the workshop will be held in the annex (meeting room) due to construction work in the main library.

Family fun and fun at the Morristown branch

Come join the Morristown branch anytime from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 29 for games.

They will have board games, invented games, traditional games and much more planned for the day, according to the library’s website.
