NBA (0.75 units) New Orleans Pelicans/Memphis Grizzlies Over 229 (-110): 5:00 p.m. CT on NBATV

This game doesn’t matter. Well, that’s important to us bettors, but these teams are locked in their respective playoff positions, so it might as well be a scrimmage. I suspect then that we will see pick-up style play here, with limited defensive effort and plenty of goals. The Grizzlies have already started sending him on the defensive end to close out the season, allowing more than 120 straight games. The Pelicans aren’t shy about taking advantage of a weak defense and building it up, so I’m expecting a big offensive outing from them.

That total actually went down following the news that Brandon Ingram might be out for New Orleans. But that doesn’t really concern me, because the more backups the better in my opinion. High-reserve games have shown this style of pick-up throughout the season, and the only game Ingram missed this season saw 243 points scored between these teams. I’ll believe this meaningless game is just a showcase for offensive highlights, especially on NBATV, so I’ll give it a try here.

No degenerate today.

Each day it will offer its Locks and Degenerate choices. The locks are the games he trusts. Degenerates are fun but riskier choices.
