WILMINGTON, North Carolina (WWAY) – The Thalian Association Community Theater will return to the stage this fall with five community theater productions on the main stage of the historic Thalian Hall and five youth theater performances on 2n/a Street scene at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center.
The Main Stage Thalian Hall season will have something for everyone with two Wilmington premieres, a family vacation favourite, a classic romantic comedy and the return of a beloved fairy tale.
The Youth Theater season will appeal to young people of all ages with Disney’s The Descendants the Musical, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Wizard of Oz, Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr., and Eternal tuck.
The Wilmington premiere something rotten will kick off the main stage season in October, followed by the holiday classic A Christmas story.
Philadelphia History will be next, right in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Cinderella by Rodgers & Hammerstein will be on stage at Thalian Hall for the first time in more than a decade as the featured event of the North Carolina Azalea Festival in April 2023, and the season wraps up Memorial Day weekend with another premiere in Wilmington, The Wedding Singer.

Individual tickets for the Thalian Hall Main Stage will go on sale August 15epriced at $34 with senior discounts available.
Tickets for youth under 18 will cost $22 to make it more affordable for families to enjoy live shows together.

Theater lovers won’t have to wait for the new season for community theater productions.
The Thalian Association has two shows planned during the summer months. Air combat is a musical adaptation of the 1991 film of the same name.
It follows a group of young marines in 1963 who hold an “air combat” contest the day before they leave for war.
Whoever brings the ugliest girl to the party wins. aerial combat will be presented on 2n/a Street scene at the historic USO building on July 8e – 17e.
Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical Company was part of the 2021-2022 Thalian Hall season but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
Company will be performed at Kenan Auditorium UNCW on August 5e – 14e. Tickets for both productions are available on thalian.org.
