Breast cancer is a disease that has touched the lives of many within the Saint Leo community, from faculty and staff who have been personally touched to our loved ones and friends.

The university will once again host Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Employees are encouraged to consider donating $10 or more to the Susan G. Komen fundraising site. In addition, the entrance to the university campus will be “dewy” with lighting during the evening in an effort to raise awareness.

Additionally, Anthony DeSantis, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, hosts “Pink Run/Walk with the AVP” every Tuesday in October. Staff and faculty employees who attend any of these events can receive a free sweatband and $10 in on-site event credit through Rally!

Note: Onsite Rally event credit will be given for attending one or more races during the month of October. Participation in an individual week does not result in a weekly rally credit.

As a reminder, in cooperation with Advent Health, Saint Leo will host a mobile mammography unit equipped with 3D imaging on Monday, October 31, to offer preventive screenings to professors and staff. Most major insurances are accepted and there is no additional charge for 3D capability. Appointments are limited. Please register in advance »
