The Polish Ministry of Finance and the National Tax Administration have issued a warning against participating in or offering illegal online games.

In a statement, the agencies said that as a Polish resident, participate in gambling outside of Poland or in gambling that contradicts the law on gambling – such as l use of unlicensed websites – is illegal.

Those who offer illegal games of chance are liable to a fine of up to PLN 4.4 million (£ 841,206 / $ 1.1 million / € 975,740), in accordance with article 23, sections one and three of the fiscal penal code.

Operators may also be subject to a fine if they offer gaming products in a way that contradicts a license or permit they have received.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance and the National Revenue Administration have declared that it is also illegal for individuals to use foreign licenses and permits to offer gambling in Poland.

However, internet domains used to run promotional lotteries are legal, provided that an authorization is issued by the director of the chamber of the tax administration.

Polish authorities maintain a blacklist of nearly 15,000 illegal gambling sites, with new domain names being added almost daily. Among the sites added in recent days were, and the Campobet sites.
