After a long hiatus from the on-stage lineup, Anchorage Concert Association kicks off the upcoming season with The Piano Guys. With their fortuitous debut at a piano store in a small town in Utah, four fathers set out to make a positive impact around the world through music videos. This common goal struck a chord, and their stunning self-taught videos played Piano guys in addition to a billion YouTube views, six albums, a PBS special and a concert empire.

Pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Nelson have been performing together since 2011. Their inventive arrangements of classical and pop songs from catalogs from Bach to Bruno Mars to BTS give rise to performances that are at once quirky, poignant and presented with panache. . As Steven Sharp Nelson says, “Music is the electric ground in which the mind lives, thinks and invents”
