MUSCLE SHOALS, Alabama – It’s September and that means it’s almost time for the North Alabama State Fair.

It begins on Tuesday, September 21, and it is the first show in two years after the 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic.

However, it will be reduced this year, according to the fair’s board of directors. Roger Creekmore said there would be no indoor activities, stage events or demolition derby.

Although face masks are not mandatory, the board asks participants to maintain social distancing where possible.

“It’s a tradition here to have the fair,” said Creekmore. “Last year we couldn’t have one because we were in the middle of the pandemic and we wanted to move forward this year, the board wanted to move forward this year, but we want to do it in the safest way possible. “

Since the event is downsized, the board announced that admission will be cut in half from $ 10 to $ 5.

The fair begins on Tuesday September 21 and lasts until Sunday September 26.
