The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow has announced the winner of the 2021 “Moondancer” scholarship. Kathleen McNamara was selected from over 40 nominations received from writers in the United States. His writing proposal and sample of work were selected by the judges as the highest rated for literary merit and likelihood of publication. McNamara will receive a two-week residency at Writers’ Colony in Dairy Hollow.

The Writers’ Colony is offering the “Real People, Real Struggles, Real Stories: Writing About Mental Illness” scholarship to non-fiction writers focusing on managing mental illness. This personal story should offer insight, awareness and hope. The writing can take the form of a dissertation, a personal essay, a profile or a biography. The scholarship recipient receives a two-week residency in a private writing room including a gourmet dinner served five nights a week in our community dining room, the camaraderie of other professional writers whenever you want, and a full community kitchen. bases for other meals. Hope Cancer Resources’ Wellness Center for Hope offers yoga, meditation and fitness classes for cancer patients and in-person caregivers, via Zoom and YouTube.
