LANSDALE – If you have a 2022 schedule, the Borough of Lansdale has announced several dates to record.

The dates for a series of events commemorating the city’s 150th anniversary celebrations were announced by the borough on Monday.

“We’re bringing back some old favorites and honoring the icons of Lansdale with so much more. We’re 150 years old only once and we’re looking to do it the Lansdale way! »Declared the district in a press release.

Talks on planning for the city’s 150th anniversary began in 2019, and in January 2021, a committee of 150th anniversary volunteers announced plans to install a gazebo in Memorial Park, ideally by early 2022. for use throughout this year. City officials announced in June that the gazebo would be named after the late Mayor Mike DiNunzio and that a series of fundraisers were underway.

New details on several planned events were announced Monday in the borough newsletter for events throughout 2022: an Arbor Day celebration at Stony Creek Park on April 10, a game of old fashioned baseball on May 14 at Memorial Park, a strawberry festival on June 4 at the Fairmount Fire Company on Vine Street, a “Day in the Park” event on July 16 at Memorial Park, a auto on July 30 on Main Street, a 150th parade on Main Street on August 20, a community picnic on August 24 at Memorial Park and the Borough’s Founders Day celebration throughout the city on August 27 .
