BUCKHEAD, Ga. (CBS46) — A major cleanup is underway Friday morning after someone vandalized the historic Buckhead Theater, smashing a number of windows overnight.

The repair crews have barely finished closing the windows. They placed plywood over the entrance doors to the theater after the glass in all four doors was smashed.

The maintenance manager of the theater informs us that he received a call around 1:30 am telling him that the entrance doors had been vandalized while the theater was closed. He said that when he arrived at night, the police were already there. Officers told him that an intoxicated person had broken the windows and that person had been taken into custody.

CBS46 is still working to find out if this person faces any formal charges.

Nothing was taken and no one was hurt.

There’s a show at the theater on Saturday night. An indie rock band from Los Angeles should perform. We are told that the show will go on. In fact, they plan to install new window panes by Friday night.

And for the second time in as many days, the Rainbow Crosswalks from Atlanta to Midtown were also vandalized overnight.

Crews were cleaning up again after someone painted swastikas and slurs across the crosswalk.

The same person responsible for the vandalism at the crosswalk also allegedly painted the hate symbol on the nearby Federal Reserve building.
