JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee (WJHL) – East Tennessee State University calls for “All Hands On Deck” as school officials say they will return to full capacity at * all home sporting events this season to come up.
The announcement comes as organizers say ETSU has had one of the best financial years in program history thanks to donations and fan engagement with ETSU Athletics.
A statement from ETSU Athletics says the university plans to return to 100% capacity at all home sporting events during the 2021-22 season.
“ETSU Athletics is grateful to all of the Buccaneer fans, donors and alumni who were ‘All Hands on Deck’ this year. With incredible generosity, we have fought against the pandemic and are ready for a very exciting future, ”said Scott Carter, ETSU athletic director. “We are excited to announce that all sporting events will be at full capacity this fall. We can’t wait to see sell-out crowds and make special memories, once again, with our fans. “
University officials say they strive to be one of the country’s leaders in athletic ability, including at the football stadium and at Freedom Hall and Brooks Gym to support basketball teams .
Last year, the ETSU’s fall sports season was delayed and COVID-19 protocols limited participation in home sports events.
