And at that time, the stones that Thomas Hunter had removed from the “gateway” he had found were destroyed. It seems that one day, when Hunter was away giving a lecture with the prehistoric bones he had found, his sons, Hugh and Ed Hunter, crushed the stones for their driveway. When Hunter returned home, he was understandably upset.
