Kochi: A gaming racket was dismantled here on Sunday as part of the investigation into the actions of Saiju Thankachan, accused of the deaths of two models in a traffic accident on November 1.

Police had earlier discovered that Thankachan, who had hunted the models to death, was involved in supplying drugs to DJ parties in the city.

It was on the basis of his contributions that raids were carried out on apartments in Maradu, Thevara and Chelavannur here.

Manorama News reported that police took into custody a Manjali native who rented Chelavannur’s apartment for holding a gambling joint.

Police discovered an illegal poker room with sets of chips, in addition to the ganja that was allegedly provided to customers.

Thankachan was connected to Hotel No 18 in Fort Kochi, where models Ansi Kabeer and Anjana Shajan had spent the night partying before suffering a tragic death.
