In Charmed Season 3, Episode 15, a future Abby meets a flaming death from a powerful witch infected with a mysterious new plague.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Charm Season 3, Episode 15, “Schrödinger’s Future, “ which aired Friday on The CW.

In CharmIn the final episode of, Maggie and Macy travel to the future in hopes of finding Future-Mel, who recently left her baby at Present-Mel. Although the duo fail to find Future-Mel, they learn that the whole world will soon be facing an apocalyptic-level plague.

About three weeks from their current time, The Whispering Evil will be unleashed – a disease that targets witches and demons and is destined to turn the world into shambles. Surprisingly, the couple learn of this unhappy future from their nemesis, Abby, who has taken on a vigilante-like character (giving Birds of prey‘s Huntress vibes) and live and defend the SafeSpace of the future. That’s until we see Abby meet a deadly fate.

Before meeting her timely disappearance, Abby reveals to Maggie and Macy that Maggie died in 2026. Additionally, she tells the couple that she killed Maggie. A stunned Maggie then learns that she must have been killed because she too was infected with The Whispering Evil – a Big Bad nickname imagined by Future-Mel – and was using her powers to destroy others.

Abby reveals that evil will turn anyone into the darker versions of themselves, turning with a click (a la The last of us) kind of monster. Not quite human and not quite zombie, any infected witch or demon is incapable of being controlled. After the half-witch, half-demon explains the threat of the future, she too is attacked by an infected witch wearing leather boots. The witch turns out to be none other than a Future-Macy, who has since regained her fireball demon powers and used them to defeat Abby once and for all.

Macy comes face to face with her infected self and is terrified of what has become of her. Ever since Abby stole Macy’s demonic powers and used them to kill witches for revenge, Charm fans wanted to see Abby punished by Macy’s. And in this episode, technically, Macy destroys Abby once and for all, which seems a little like the writers room paid for fan service.

Back in the present, Abby is still alive. However, now that the Charmed Ones have learned of the existence of future evil – the same that the Perfecti tried to warn them against before the sisters sent them to the Tomb of Chaos – perhaps it is time for them to bury the ax Abby to collectively focus on stopping a world-ending plague before it begins. In the future, five years to be exact, Abby has joined a resistance led by Mel, so it’s entirely possible that Abby will soon be more of an asset than a curse for The Charmed Ones. At the very least, if 2026 had Macy’s regained her demon powers, then maybe Abby was telling the truth in “Chaos Theory” when she said she would find a way to safely return Macy’s powers to her. .

Charm stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Jordan Donica, Poppy Drayton, Mareya Salazar and JJ Hawkins. New episodes air Fridays at 8 p.m. ET / PT on The CW.
